3 months!

Believe it or not, our little man is now 3 months old! Due to some Internet issues at the Richard household I am updating you all from my IPhone and cannot upload pics. Ahh....I know I feel the same way, totally frustrated. But don't give up on me, I promise to get some posted soon. We have had many memorable moments over the last few days, including a visit from our dear friends the Gerrards, mommys first day back at work, and daddy's first 13 hour day Shift alone with Coop! With all this being said, stay tuned for some fun photos in the next couple days. Until then, xoxo from Cooper & Co.

2am visitor

Our little family was all tucked in and sleeping soundly Tuesday night, when around 2am we heard a little squel and a lot ruckus in our bedroom. Lucy (our cat) was frantically running around our bedroom. We flipped on the lights to discover she had cornered a little brown mouse!! I immediately freaked out and jumped on the counter in our bathroom, while Andy headed to the basement to get "supplies" to catch this little guy. Over the next hour we found ourselves chasing this thing through 3 rooms of the house only to finally corner it in, you guessed it, Coop's room! By this time, Andy and I were both sweating and Cooper was wide awake! After totally ransacking his room, we got the mouse into a box and Andy ran out into the middle of the street (in his boxers) and dumped him out.  Quite the eventful night at the Richard house!

It's Happening.....

Yep that's right, my little man is starting to lose his hair!!!  There are definite signs of male pattern baldness occuring.  Luckily he has enough hair you can comb it certain ways to cover up these bald patches, but look close enough and you will see the truth. Not sure at this point if he is going to lose it all or just keep some awkward patches, but we will keep you posted.  In other news, Cooper has started grabbing toys and pulling them towards him and his mouth.  He was really doing it a lot with his daddy Sunday night when I was at Bible Study, so when I got home they wanted to show me.  See some highlights below. Pretty exciting stuff in our little world!

My First Day Back at Work.......almost

Just ask Andy, I definitely was getting all worked up last night about having to come back to work this morning. I had a few stressful moments and tears last night about my maternity leave being over and having to leave Cooper for 13 hours at a time and how was I going to pump at work, etc, etc, etc.  All that stress and a pretty sleepless night last night resulted in a 5am phone call from work saying they didn't need me today!  Ahhhh.....kind of frustrating.  I am on call though which means if they do get busy throughout the day they can call me at any time to come in.  So I had to take Coop over to the nanny's anway.  So now I am sitting here alone, not getting paid (ok well technically I get paid $1 an hour to be on call), and missing my little guy!  Maybe God knew I wasn't quite ready to go back..........Well in case you are missing Cooper today too, here's a few shots from the weekend.

Cooper Raymond Richard

God's little miracle entered our lives on 4-30-2011 with a full head of hair and a waiting room full of family! Each new day with him has been a joy, but not without its ups and downs. Some of them I will share while others best be kept to myself. But I will let you know that for the first week with him home, I kept looking at him and not believing he had actually come out of me! Childbirth is truly a miracle, but thank goodness for epidurals! I can promise you that there have been more ups than downs, as Cooper is an incredibly laid back and low maintenance baby. Hardly ever cries, never spits up, no diaper rash, sleeps on average 7 hours a night, and loves riding in the car. But to all these things, I should preface with YET. I do know there will be bumps and bruises along the way. I know there will be diaper rashes, and fevers, and vomit, and sleepless nights, and screaming car rides.............but for now, I am just enjoying it, and sympathizing with my friends who might not be having a similiar experience with motherhood. As my mother in law always lovingly reminds me, Andy was a "challenge" as a child (for lack of better words) so I will cherish this "Cooper Calmness" while I can!

The Beginning

For all those who wanted me to do this, for our dear families who we can't see every day, and for good friends both near and far.....here it is! My very first blog. I have always enjoyed reading other people's blogs and catching up on their day to day adventures, but I never thought I would be the one to blog.........until we moved away from our families. Why would I blog if I could give face to face live updates on my life? Or see both parents and all our siblings on a weekly basis? But that is not where God has placed us, so I am creating this blog to keep you all in the loop of the little (and big) moments of our life here in Omaha.
