Mid Afternoon Post

Just checking in with you all, wanted to share with you how our day is going! Discovered my toes this morning (this is Cooper talking in case you hadn't caught on yet), went to a Spray Park for play group with some friends, and am going to go to the gym with mommy in a little bit ( mommy says the gym has 3hrs of free childcare a day, which I don't really know what that means except she leaves me in this room for a little bit where they have a fun swing they let me play in, so it's all good with me!). Although mommy is supposed to be working 2 days a week, she has been getting called off a lot so she gets to spend more time with me (good for me, not so much the budget!) Hope you are all enjoying your day!

Another Fun Weekend

Although summer seems to be nearing its end, we are still enjoying the beautiful weather each day and also every moment with Cooper.  He seems to be smiling more and more, and we even got a little giggle out of him in the middle of Costco yesterday!!  I am sure we looked like crazy parents clapping and leaning over our cart inches from his face trying to get him to do it again.  But a first is a first, and you can't blink or you will miss them.  Still working on rolling over, haven't quite mastered that yet, still having trouble getting over that hump of the arm.

After not pooping for 4 days, I finally had a blowout which got me an extra bath, hooray!

Merry (early) Christmas!  Just kidding, actually mom and dad were cleaning out the garage and we found these fun antlers.  Can't wait for Christmas now!

My Newest Skill

Cooper is trying to master rolling over, see his progress below.  He tries hard, he just can't quite get over the arm.  But maybe tomorrow!
 

Over the past weekend we got to spend some time in our favorite windy city, Chicago!  We had a great time with family and friends; Dad got some golf in with Ryan and Wayne, Mom and Coop got some good cousin time in with Abbi, Grif, and Sawyer, and all 4 grandparents got some good Cooper time in! Our friends Meg and Bobby got married and it was a fun event (despite the pouring down rain). Aunt Ali was in the wedding and she looked beautiful as always.  Thanks to Grammee and Grandpa B. for watching Coop all night Saturday so Mom and Dad could have some fun!  Cooper must like being at the grandparents because he slept all night for them, hooray! Then we got some Aunt Heather time in on Sunday too.  Whew, full weekend, but as always, a blast.  Mom always has a few tears on the trip back home to Omaha, because she gets sad leaving the family.  But that doesn't mean we don't love our bungalow here in "God's Country", (as dad calls it). Being far away just makes the times together that much more special  :)

Handsome Barrel Maker

I was talking with some girls the other day about the meaning of names, and someone asked me what Cooper meant.  I felt like a horrible mother as I had never looked at any of the Baby Name Books when we were thinking of names, so I had no idea what Cooper even meant.  One of the girls had a baby name book at her house, so she grabbed it and as I thumbed through it, I desperately hoped that Cooper meant wisdom, or kind hearted, or strong man, or anything of some worth.  Nope.  You know what it said? BARREL MAKER.  What?!  What does that even mean?  Luckily at my neighborhood playgroup yesterday a lady had a different version of the book, and this one at least said Handsome Barrel Maker.  At least we have handsome going for us!!

0-3 months?

As I was folding a load of Coop's laundry tonight, I suddenly realized he cannot fit into his 0-3 months clothes anymore! I felt like he was in his newborn clothes for so long and he couldn't quite get into the 0-3months size, then all of a sudden, those don't even fit anymore! Andy and I shared a few moments of disbelief and shock in how big our sweet boy is, then with a tear in my eye I sadly packed away the 0-3 months clothes, only to be brought out hopefully for baby #2 someday.   It is amazing how fast these little ones grow, even though so many people tell you how fast they grow, it is now literally happening before my eyes, and I can't believe it! 

In other Richard news, we got in a long awaited visit from Grammee (short but sweet) last week and also had Great Grandpa and Grandma Sapp over tonight for dinner.  Mom worked two days in a row this week, which left everyone exhausted......Dad, Mom, and Cooper! (mostly mom and dad....Cooper is doing great with his sitter Katie and favorite playmate Gabe).  Looking forward to going to "Sweet Home Chicago" this weekend for a wedding and some good family time.  That's all for now, love to you all!
